The only difference between models such as 2200 vs 2200PE is this.
All "PE" Series products:
This line was designed with a variable power supply, with the idea of conserving energy. (The British have an bug about this, left over from WWII rationing). Otherwise they are the same.
I have a 2200PE that was modified to get rid of this feature and it increased the sound quality and bass extension.
