RE: Nad 3225PE or 3240PE

I think they sound about the same, power and feature differences aside, using relatively efficient speakers. When both models were new, and after hearing both at a dealer over a period of a few weeks I decided to buy the 3225 (new) over the 3240 because I didn't need the additional power or features of the 3240.

About a year later I traded it for the 7225PE receiver, which was the 3225 + a decent tuner, and enjoyed it quite a bit. I used it stand alone and later as a preamp with an upgraded NAD 2200 power amp, also very enjoyable (but better).

Hope this helps.

Jim
