Thank You for the kind discussions about CA - 7 & PA - 7 & horns...
I am an engineer of high precision instruments & music fan, not singer or musican, just listener of music from 1968... I am from Lithuania(EU), forme republic of soviet union... Before 1976 it was very dificult to by good equipment in my country... But after - it was posibility throuh embasys of foreingh countries to by HI-FI or Hi-END...
First I had-Toshiba,Sanyo,Kenwood-Trio,Technics,Yamaha & Pioneer(9-line)components. Speakers where JVC, Technics, Sansui, Yamaha, Tandberg & Cerwin Vega...In 1989 I sold everything & purchased Nakamichi, at first OMS-3;OMS-4;CDP-3 after 4; later OMS-70; MB-2; MB-2S... At that time I was listening music with speakers Cerwin Vega (~300w), my amplifiers were - Mitsubichi AV, after Nakamichi SR-3;TA-3 & TA-4...In 1996 I purchased PA-7 & CR-3 & LX-5... For my car I purchased PA-300II;RD-450; TA-700; SP-400; SP-300 & SP-65C... later CD-1; later CD-45Z (it was stolen from my MB). So I come back & begin to make records for my Becker Grand Prix on my CR-3A deck (metal tape)... I introduced in to my car audio SP-65C (with silk tweeters)& increased sound value of high definition Becker amplification (6 separate amps) in my MB. Some music lovers proposing me to take part at the HI-END exibitions of the car audio... I am not fibber, but sound is to compare with the bests car cd's & it is not only my opinion...
In 1996 I purchased used PA-7 & ST-7. I was using TA-4A as preamp. When I purchsed ADCOM GFP-750, GFA-5802 & GCD-750, at first I thouth that now I have possibility with spekers Klipsch Heresy II & sub KSW-12, Vampire (silver), Kimber (silver) interconects, Kimber (blue) speakers conects to get live music impression. Sound was big, transparent & fast, all instruments were hoocked on concrete parts of space. But after few days I uderstood that I can't hear some sonic niuances, what I had from OMS-70 (especialy when I was listening Miles Davis, Harry Connick Jr., Maler & ... Then I tried Audio Note CD-2, sound was very transparent to compare with GCD-750, but it was in inside of the spekers & singer sang very natural, but not outside of Heresy's. I tried B&W 700 & I was dissapointed. I understood that horn's based speakers are completely different & yuo must agree that, if sound of them is good for you, for you will be difficult to get into the swing with others constructions speakers. O.K. I am not specialist I never listened elecrostatics or planar as Bolzano Villerti speakers, but I will try to do it... I found that major speakers of mid & high levels, what are using sound companies at the live concerts, are horn type speakers (I took part at live concerts of John Scofield, Nick Cave, Jetrho Tull, Robert Plant, Bela Fleck, Al di Meola, Kurt Elling, Shakatak, Jan Garbarek, Richard Bona, Joe Zawinul, Micke Stern, Eddie Palmieri, Richard Galliano, Yellow Jackets, David Sanborn, Elvin Jones, Buddy Guy, The Tiger Lillies, Bryan Ferry, Percadu & ... I do not know what it is live music at this days... But I know what sound is good & what is bad... realy the bigest specialist of sound quality is my wife... So, after Audio Note CD I tried Sonus Faber Musica, Unison Researth Unico(the best of multi line) & Unico CD (multi), speakers Sonus Faber Cremona, Canton, Klipsch RF-7;5;... Most of them were very good sounding peaces but prices also very very high... So I came back & purchased
OMS-7AII & CA-7A to my PA-7. Nakamichi preamp is better sounding to compare with GFP-750 & have exellent phono stage, GFA-5802 & PA-7 are both designed by Nelson Pass, but they are different & sounding differet. For me beter is PA-7. I know that my CA is 1987, PA-1985, CR-1989, ST-1986, OMS-1988, PA-300II-1986 & TD-1984... but I am very happy because all this equipment works perfect about 20 years & sounding perfect without faults at my home & at my car... So I sold GFP-750 & GFA-5802, B&W 700 & I am satisfied with my old Nakamichi...
P.S. I never tried Mark Levinson or Krell... I heard JM Lab's all utopias, Esoteric, Acufase, Forsel (CD & turntable), Naim, Linn, Arye, Conrad Johanson, Audio Note... all of them are very good, but pricies are not adequat to quality... Old McIntosh,Tandberg,Nakamichi,Acufase or Studer Revox are very good sounding equipment & are't so expesive at this days...

Thank You for Yours atention & I am looking for Nakamichi TX-1000 Turntable...
