Hi, I'm new to Audio Asylum, though I've looked through the site often after hearing about it over in the AK forum. A friend of mine has four Utah Heritage HS1-C speakers they are looking to get rid of. I've listened to them compared to my Pioneer HPM-500 speakers and the Utahs sound downright muddy in comparison. But I am wondering if I replaced the crossovers with new if that would help them? Or should I just cannibalize them for the individual speakers? Any thoughts? It seems a shame to just pitch them if they can be helped. The cabinets are in good shape and just need to be refinished. Thanks for any advice offered.
