Hi, I've mine powered by a Mac 7270. A friend of mine use a 250 watts ARC tube amp to tame the harshness and the bass went lower. If you do not like the black colour, use a sander to sand it down to bare wood and apply a coat of mahagony laquer to it. The crossover is huge and can be reversed mounted on the outside. But needs to reroute the wiring. There are eight huge alu. can type capacitors that might needs to be replaced. A good project for a DIY guy.
