Re: most of my listening is Subjective

It seems to take me at least 2 weeks to get used to a system and after that I either like it or don't. I was listening to some Vinyl a few weeks ago on a huge Magnovox console stereo in my brother's basement and I took for granted the fact that there are pops and crackels with vinyl while there is a warmth that a cd can't deliver. After about 4 hours and some less well worn records the pops were less noticeable and it sounded better and better to me. Now it could have been the India Pale Ale that I was drinking that made it sound better or maybe I just got used to the sound and began to enjoy it more. I believe that a drastic change in a system can be a good thing as it keeps you on your toes and exposes improvments or reveals flaws. Either way, who wants to listen to the same system forever without trying something different?
