A bridge rectifier without a trafo is DEADLY dangerous! Both B+ and ground are DIRECTLY connected to the "hot" side of the AC mains. :~( :~(

The 15 Ohm resistor in amp's OEM configuration is a peak surge limiter. Without that resistor, the SS diode would "pop" at turn on. The introduction of the isolation trafo takes care of limiting the turn on surge.

120 VRMS is just shy of 170 V. peak. All cap. I/P filters droop under load. If you CRC filter the O/P from the rectifier bridge with 2X 150 muF./250 WVDC 'lytics and a 180 Ohm/3 W. WW resistor, you should get darned close to 150 V. under load. If the B+ rail comes in too low, change to a 150 Ohm part in the PSU filter.
