That would do it, but also...

You should check the tightness of the tube sockets. If you insert a jeweler's screwdriver into each of the holes you can *lightly* bend the contacts in each socket to improve the contact with the tube pins.

Also, a pipe cleaner and alcohol can be used to clean deposits in the tube sockets.

Output tube sockets get HOT and over time they lose tension in their contacts, leading to at best pops, and noises, at worst you can fry a tube or even an output transformer.

So it's a good thing to check. That's what we get for trying to make these poor old crocks work after 50 years or so of service ;-)
