Minimus 7 Crossover Mod Revision.

168.253.12.218

The crossover has been revised. The reason for this is twofold.

1. The crossover was causing audible colorations in the critical band around its selected point.

2. I found it better to run the 4inch driver fullrange, and cross the tweeter over at its upper limit.

The OEM tweeter circuit of a 4.7uF cap in parallel, with a 0.4mH coil in series appears to have set the point at 3.7Khz causing destructive interactance between the 2 drivers from around 4 to 8Khz.

The latest revision sets the point at 7.6Khz. To do so, remove the coil from the crossover circuit. Remove existing capacitor(s) and replace it with caps equalling 2.75uF.

The result is vastly improved integration between the drivers, resulting in coherent, single-driver like performance with no undue crossover related coloration.
