I was very taken by the design concept of the X, but when I finally found a pair and listened, I was disappointed and thought it had a "boxy" sound and lacked the clarity it was touted to have. I vaguely remember the XII, and I think it might be a "X improved" as I seem to recall a more open sound.It might be worth trying that concept again with a better full range/midrange like the Fostex. The Philips they used was not good enough IMHO.
