Re: Pioneer Spec1 vs Mac C-28

Having had both at 1 time, I stayed with the Mc. The Spec had slightly smeared the high end and had an the initial piano strike that seemed to indicate, but I never scoped it, possibly it had an overshoot in the rise. The Spec had what would today be called a more neutral (not an endearing term to me as it means something has been subtracted) voicing than the Mc. The Spec also seemed faster, probably. I'd sort of compare then to a '91 Chevy Caprice and a '91 Ford Crown Victoria. Both do the job they were designed for and do it well. More towards a personal preference than anything else. As for me, I kept the Mc and returned the Spec to stock. As a Mc owner and lover, I am neither astonished, horrified or indignant about the question.
