Re: 299 C problem - hum

I think you may have posted last week to..Did you replace the selenium rectifier bridge and the associated filter cap? Thats very important in those units as they are always bad and you can meausure your filament voltage on the preamp tubes at pins 4 and 5 and it should be 12.6v. If its like 8 to 10,that is where your problem lies.
You will find the phono section to be particulary sensative to hum because of the high amplification in that section.
