Re: 1960s small 'solid state' amps

I have played with some cap coupled amps and they do seem to have a more tubey sound. I assume high source impedance is a big factor but I have also wondered if the lack of DC has a positive effect on the sound. A lot of people still think John Linsley-Hood class A amplifier is great sounding and it is cap coupled.
