Measure all resistors & capacitors & replace those that are out-of-specification. Electrolitic-construction capacitors should be replaced outright due to age. Clean all plug-in connections (includes tube sockets & tube pins). Clean movable control contacts. If a kit, compare assembly to an original Manual. Original tubes are not neccessarily *weak*.
