Does the dbx DX-5 CD player play CD-Rs well? And a Yamaha CDP question.

I'm looking at one, but I have a lot of vinyl rips to CD-R I need to be able to play. I've heard good things about this machine. Anyone got any experience with it?
I'm also looking at a Yamaha CDX-550.
Is one better than the other?
