Re: What little I have learned is....

Yep..But........there is some vintage alnico drivers,,that have a midrange that would make you forget about treble beam & rolled top...people just ain't talkin...including me....*s*,. The Heil AMT is @ great advantage to my G2 ribbon approach, many cross is successfully WAY lower than I can get.. 2500hz is pushing it big time with a G2..albiet I havent tried real steep active,..I retract anything I said about having this 3-way OB dialed.. it isn't..Something intresting is..When I pulled all filters & such including disconnect of G2 & ran direct to B200 with 300B in PP, BASH plates still doinf OB bass duty,,Bass integration has been extremely easy for me,, never a problem , I go 150hz 4th active. ..I took all PLLXO off to..intresting enough I moved my baffle a buch of times which I don't do much..OB is extremely picky on position..extremmely. I moved within 18" of back wall & slight toe in..treble beam isn't bothering me.. it is nice. I haven't ran clean since I went to 18" baffle & moved bass drivers farther aprt from B200..I am sure I can sweeten it up even more with a decent EQ..If I can run a DAC, I can certainly run a EQ..I am also going active for further ribbon or Heil AMT 3-way..OB experiments..I am building a all tube 27 IDHT & 26 DHT pre, should be finished by years end. & will want to use them..so PLLXO might not be even feasable..I have tube active boards I could build up & try also, Steve Bench desighn..But that is on back burner.. I will just get a simple or build simple active unit..& go from there..I tell my wife that Supravox Alnico OB drivers would be a nice Christmas present..of course she is laughing...Open baffle has changed my hole outlook on audio fun for the better....let me know how the Heil AMT thing goes, I am very curiouse..
