Walked away from a pair of Altec Valencias today...

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Wooden fretwork grills and in nice shape except for some very minor damage to the veneer at the bottom of one speaker. The price was $550.
I would have had to rent a truck and get some help, not to mention get them up 3 flights of stairs to my 1-br condo.
These were at an estate sale and priced at $800. I put in a bid for $530 and left. I got 10 feet down the walk and the lady running the sale called me back. She said there was another bid for $525, and I could have them for $550. After discussing the logistics, I had to pass.
I don't think I could keep these speakers. I'll see if she calls back after the sale and wants to negotiate. It would be worth the hassle if I could get them for $400.
