It must need all new electrolytics by now

Ones from that era are only fair compared to today's best.
And their working life is less than 1/5th (1,000 hours at rated) of today's long life (5,000-10,000 hours at 85-105 deg. C operating). offerings such as the Panasonc FM.
That's the drawback of buying vintage. After 20 years max. you have to change out 50 or so elctrolytics. I've done it dozens of times though and with one or two exceptions, the results have been dramatic.
