That being said, I think differences between Marantz receivers would be difficult for a human with dog-sensitive ears to perceive. After all, many were created by the same guys, in the same lab, ostensibly with the same goals.
Now, between Marantz and McIntosh vintage...there you're talking really different and noticeable sonic signatures.
