Live music- really isn't realSure it is when not massacred with a PA system. Especially those played at three digit decibel levels requiring ear plugs. You need to get out more often and hear live unamplified music. Following my recent move to a college town, I have enjoyed numerous opportunities to hear really live music.
Does your "vintage" stuff - sound more like real music ?
Yes and no. Double Advents are able to provide a natural tonal balance one would find further back in an orchestra. Very convincing, but somewhat distant. On the other hand, they are unable to resolve the kind of detail you would find in a more intimate setting or seated more closely. They are a bit muffled as compared with the best. Recently, for example, I heard the Katona Twins play classical guitar at the local university in a small auditorium. Unamplified, naturally. I was in the first row. You could hear every aspect of their expert playing and fingering technique.
