Good electronics for vintage B&W's?

Just picked up a pair od DM-14's that appear to be in really good shape. Driving them now with a Sony str6800 receiver, and generally sounding quite good. However there is some muddiness is the bass. Not real focussed down there. I believe the receiver may not well suited for these speakers. I have had this same issue with some other speakers. I think this Sony, althuogh 80 watts, likes really efficient speakers, and/or perhaps speakers that allow fore more of the higher frequencies. The Sony did well with some small lightwight Sony speakers from the eighties (an incredible clear sound, wonderfully balanced, you wouldn't believe it!). So, any recommadations for a receiver, one with a good tuner, is preferable.
I think these dm-14's need a little juice-sensitivity 86, 8 ohms.

Thanks, Vince
