Speaker cones

Answer 1: I have noticed this on a pair of speakers I have and believe it is caused by humidity. When stored in the basement snd brought upstsirs for listening they have to wait till the paper cones dry out to sound good. When left in the listening area they are fine.

Answer 2: The capacitors in the crossovers might be tired and take a while to reform each time. I have one Zenith Transoceanic transistor radio that when I use it I listen to it slowly start working. After a little time the distortion slowly goes away.
