With some work the Grado hum can be eliminated. I remember doing it with the FTE+ when we sole the combination. Wish I could remember what we did but anyway it can be done and the Grado was a really good match. I suspect the mid-line Grad today would be as good. Also, try contacting Grado and ask them; I'll be they may have the answer.
