Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Well, they didn't sound awful, exactly ...

... and even my best friends didn't tell me honestly what they thought at the time (said things like "really laid back") but my $3,700 transport/DAC combo clearly sucked. Took me a while, and I loved their looks, but I was REALLY pushed out of shape when they were just plain demolished, sonically, by a Pioneer DVD player -- cripes, a DVD player -- with a list price of $400.

I won't tell you their name, but the initials are CJ, whose other products I like a lot.

Oh, and they must have gone back to the factory (luckily it's within half an hour of me) at least 3-4 times. And the transport simply refused to recognize at least 5% of my CDs at any given time. Ah, memories.
