Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

1952 - Spam, Miracle Whip, Kool-Aid.

I've got some bound volumes of 1952 American Home magazines from a small college library that was getting rid of them. It's a hoot and my grandkids love to look through them. Yesterday my 5 year-old grandaughter told me she wanted to see that "blue sink and the rockabilly furniture" so I pulled them out for her to look at.

Lots of built-in TV's, floor tile, some mono speakers, etc.

And I noticed several of the recipes called for luncheon meat (Spam) and salad dressing (Miracle Whip). I grew up in the 50's and I never had mayonaise, my mom used Miracle Whip.
