Hey rodney.. You hooked 2 speakers to a sundial? The shadow knows!

I rode my bike trashpicking old radios and at about 12 took 3 forms of transportation downtown to copy the riders manual pages at the main library so I could fix them. I did have my stage where I took things apart and later learned to put them back together. Dads brother was a tech and one of my closest relatives. We are still close today but now he sometimes asks me for advice.

In those days I started by testing every component and then learned where to look for problems more quickly. That still might be a good way to learn. My best advice to a newbie on tube stuff is to stare at it for 15 minutes before you pull out tools. Are their leaking parts, overheated parts, bad solder joints, Burn marks, broken parts? Also what is connected to those parts that could have damaged them.
