These are the earliest of three versions. later ones used fabric grills, and the last ones used foam. The later ones used the CTS phenolic ring cone tweeter which was a darn good one.The imperial 6 was a 10" 2-way and tuned to sound rather Advent-like. Very nice on classical music.
The Imperial 7 was a 12" 3-way that competed quite well against the JBL L-100, but cost a lot less. It was ported, but came with a foam plug to stuff the port to get a smoother and less punchy bass.
I always liked the sound of these three models and thought they were very competitive.
