The Select-a-Tenna beat the Terk AM-1000 on 2 Zeniths, a TransOceanic and a Royal 500H, both are pretty hot performers with Ferrite core antennas. The housing is slightly larger on the Select-a-Tenna which could give it an advantage if the antenna coil was larger. If ebay $ results are an indicator the Select-a-Tenna sells used for about the same as a new Terk including shipping.YMMV
