Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

The verdict is in. They sound great.

However, I don't have a reference or at least my only reference is memory from the 70s.

I tend to think they perform very well with acoustic pieces. Listening to Jethro Tull "Songs from the Wood" this AM. Separation and definition is excellent. And, pieces with brass (Herb Alpher, Chicago) also very solid. At first I thought the bass was lacking but I believe it was due to air leak.

My only complaint is that on some rock pieces (and may be the vinyl source or changes in my musical taste) seemed somewhat compressed. I'm thinking of Aerosmith "Toys in the Attic". It was like ok its there, but this music is not benefitting from a better speaker. Still other rock very good. Heart, Humble Pie, Kansas, Beatles, Blind Faith, and others very nice.

All in all, I'm very pleased with the outcome.
