My vote would be for the voltage doubler caps which your tech never replaced. Many of the Fishers seem to use two at 200uf each. You can get two axial 220uf/300V caps from lots of places (I've had good success getting these from Triode Electronics and AES)....you might be able to mount them under the chassis after you disconnect the old ones in the cans (just leave them in place). Not sure if there is a lot of space under the chassis of an 800B for this....that might be why your tech chose not to replace them initially.

Your tech should have also replaced the selenium rectifier and bias supply caps (2x1000uf I think)...not clear from your description whether that work actually got done (if not, you should have it done now)...the newer caps are much smaller so it would generate additional space for the new voltage doubler caps.
