1 "T" Amp ($29.99 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-952 )
Your Cyberhome DVD player

For the guy with money to burn, pick up one of Dennis Murphy's mod kits for the Insignias, go for the Hi-End digital T amp at PE (about $139 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-956 ), and check the digital forum for the latest round of mods to the Toshiba 39XX series of players. I've lost track of the current Tosh-mod threads.

The Toshs are more reliable than the Cyberhomes, and having bigger cases, led themselves to experimental upgrades.

The Insignias, basically a sibling to the speakers built by Radiient
www.radiient.com, which in themselves are a low-$ knockoff of a coax design used by KEF.

This setup is not going to play loud since both amps are only rated at 10wpc, but the guys claim that the quality is pretty comparable to
what you would get from a high end low-wattage tube system.

Indeed, a "vinyl" guy into low-wattage tube amps would probably have the most fun playing around with this stuff.
