found the answer I think in the manual and schematic for the G-610

This is a triaxial speaker, but insofar as it is was a later model by Jensen, there are similarities.

The manual indicates that they are transformers, not inductors, and the reason for them is to be able to change the impedence of the speaker from 4, 8 and 16 ohm and the high impedence that the field coils used. The manual gives the combination of the transformers and the hookups used to achieve the desired result.
