I use an Adcom. I bought it initally to use with a Conrad Johnson PV-3 preamp that had a noise problem. It fixed it. The PV-3 is long gone but I still use it. I tried running my system without it for a while but it seems to sound slightly better with it. It also has some good protection. I also have two 12ga. dedicated line to my stereo and a PS audio outet that I bought on a whim on one of them and a standard high quality outlet on the other. I suppose I should a/b them but I suspect I won't hear a difference.Dave
