And it's a great device. I do use it in conjunction with an outdoor yagi/rotor combination (APS-9B). It significantly improves the quality of weak, fringe, stations and it also reduces multipath distortion (as indicated on my Marantz 10B scope).The noise figure is quite low, and the amplification it provides is quite clean. RDS information can be retrieved easily with weak signals, a sign that is not adding excessive noise.
I suspect it is not as effective with indoor antennas, but might be worth a try.
I haven't detected any harshness or hardness added to the sound. This with both my Marantz 10Bs and an Onkyo Grand Integra T-G10.
