When it first came out.

I believe it was part of the very first, rather informal, equipment reviews in the old Audio Engineering magazine (I probably sold that issue to Mr Zuccaro as well!).

The "Thermocube"(Sp?) aluminum chassis was innovative, and I believe derived directly from military applications.

You are right about mono FM preferable to stereo in fringe or high multipath areas. My 10B sounds very smooth and quiet in mono mode on such stations.
