David Berning originally sussed out the incorrect de-emphasis PEC and developed the design of a more correct circuit. He made his work avail to the public in The Audio Amateur, 2/88 in the letters section. This was in response to an FM3 upgrade article by Benjamin Poehland published in TAA, 4/86.
