Home Radio Road

Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

Re: Scott Tuner

Hi, Jay:

Yes, I own both a 350-B and a 310-D, the latter which can be hooked up with a 335 multiplexer for stereo performance.

The 350-B is an average sounding tuner (at least that is my personal perception).

However, the 310-D works very nicely with the mating 335 multiplex decoder.

Incidentally, I actually found that Scott 310-D tossed out on the street near my home in Berkeley, CA many years ago. All but one of the tubes were missing when found and I had to do some physical repairs to get it back together.

Nice, "bit fat sound" when it is operated, though!

I personally never liked those crank-style dials, either. I was and still am principally a Fisher tuner "fan", though I own many of the other "classic" tuners, as many many know. I did not like the looks of Scott tuners when they were new on the market and have only lately come to accept their bizarre look.

This does not mean that I would ever pass up an opportunity to grab a 310-E or God forbid! A 4310!

Yikes
