What - specifically - are the problems with reception of 'your desired stations',*, at the dwelling where the tuner will be listened to. Hills buildings etc!? * what direction are they 'each' in.

can you / may you erect a serious directional, and external /loft mounted FM Antenna?

What is the dwelling made of etc?

Believe it or NOT getting the best possible sound-quality - from an acknowledged 'good sounding' tuner / modded audio and RFI stages - for 'sound' - can STILL after all that depend a LOT more than you might on how much antenna you need / willing to get!

And a 'good' FM directional is also a GOOD CH6 TV antenna in the USA / - see the post about the FCC's rulings.
