Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

Re: Restoring a "vintage" tuner

I seem to remember over on the bottlehead forum some posts (tried to find them but couldn't) about grounding, star grounding, and whether or not to tie chassis and signal grounds - one solution suggested was to use a double (zener I think) diode connection between the two at a single point - one diode in each direction. Since the breakdown voltage for the zener was pretty low, signal level noise wouldn't pass, but unsafe levels would. If it's of interest, might try searching on Buddha (the idea was attributed to the late John 'Buddha' Camille) and/or grounding, star grounding, etc.

I have a similar question since my KT-7500 has a two prong cord and I'd like to upgrade it.
