TV interference is a good example for a passband filter. That interfering TV station would be most likely channel 2-6 & would be close to your location.One should hear it at different locations on the dial or all over the dial depending how close the station is to your location. Another indicator would be a FM tuner that appears to have weak receive (tuner RF amp overload).
An expample is my fried that lives within 5 miles of a powerful TV station. Gets into a lot of receivers including police scanners.
