Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

Re: proton table radio restring

If you could solve those maze puzzles on the backs of cerial boxes as a kid or can assemble 500-piece jigsaw puzzle, this should be fairly easy to solve. The following applies to most any tuner: Obviously the sting with indicator needs to go over or past the dial, from there small pulleys direct string to the large pully attached to the variable tuning condensor & to the tuning knob's shaft. Several wraps around that knob shaft provide for friction to avoid string slippage & a spring at one end of string takes up slack around the large pully (string makes at least one complete turn around that large pulley & both ends of string are atached to the pulley). If the dial indicator moves in the opposite direction from what it is supposed to when knob is turned, reverse direction of string wrap around the knob shaft (if you 1st wrapped clockwise, now wrap counter-clockwise or vice-versa). Slip dial indicator on the string to *center* indicated frequency.
