. . . I'd say the "added vibration damping material" might be restricting airflow inside the box. No big deal assuming it doesn't get *that* hot.Good on ya for taking the plunge. My experience has been that you can take almost any tuner with excellent RF performance, perform the same kind of mods to the PS and output section you did, and get amazing sound in return. Cheers!
