your tuner is probably well into full limiting on the QFM9 but not into overload,High sensitivity and very good overload ought to be feature of a modern expensive tuner.
So until we do hit overload on an 'important' station I take the view that like a jewish mother's chicken soup you may well be benefitting still, and you may find that you can now get more acceptable and good sounding stations.
As a signaller in the infantry, years ago, I rapidly began to take an interest in how resiting or even changing antennas when not on the move, and then too!
