While I agree with you that the sound is not very good; I would not characterize BBC shows like Charlie Gillet, Andy Kershaw, 1Xtra, Baz Khinda, Brian Mullen, DNA Africa, Gilles Peterson, Late Junction, Mark LaMarr, Rodney P, etc. as being meaningless.
Now, what is meaningless is to have a forum for these FM tuners that can only pick up the junk that passes for an FM market in much of the world at this time; oldies, contry and western (and not good C & W like Merle and Buck)rap-crap, religious, etc.
I guess, as usual, it is much more about the gadget than the music on Audio Asylum.
Check out Mark Riley's Mint and The Blue Room on the BBC and tell me what is meaningless.
