but they'll be rare. I've seen some old meters where the plastic has been deformed from the bulbs behind them warping the case and the needle sticks in that way. The giveaway for this problem is usually a darkening of the plastic around the light bulb.If the case isn't in the needle's path then I'd suspect the movement is not doing well. There may still be some hope but you'll have to see if the meter's case can be opened. Some will have access through the back. In this case, the cover will snap onto the back piece that will also house the meter movement. If there's no easy access, then you'll most likely damage the meter attempting to crack open the case.
You'll have to be careful with these movements as they are suspended on 2 pivot points with a small spring to center the needle. Use a magnifying glass to see if there's some sort of obstruction that can be addressed. If its anywhere, it will be close to to or within the movement itself.
Outside of that, there's going to be precious little you'll be able to do.
