Back in my teenage years (early-mid 70's) in Lancaster, PA, I inherited a Sherwood mono tube tuner for my bedroom, and I would listen to Philadelphia's WWMR with just a dipole antenna (63 miles away!) It was still a free-form FM rock station in those days, and the d.j.'s played a lot of English folk rock (Steeleye Pan, Pentangle, Fairport Convention, Incredible String Band, T. Rex) and they really jumped on Springsteen before he was a national superstar. It was also the first place I heard the Velvet Underground and the Modern Lovers! Good times . . .
