Home Radio Road

Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

Scott 4312

Stumbled onto a Scott 4312 tuner. Got it in my system, connected to a Magnum Dynalab early model signal sleuth, then to a Magnum Dynalab antenna indoors.

Did not take the bottom cover off, but the main power supply cap looks original ( four section?)

Everything works like a champ including the lamps and the fine tuning light.

Am I imagining things or does this 50 year old tuner sound better than my Magnum Dynalab FT 101?

I basically listen to one station, NPR classical music station, is there any point to an alignment if it sounds this good and pegs the needle?

Should I think about rennovating the 4312, or just listen?

Wow it sounds good.
