I wanted to thank you for this great review. I too have been to most of the places you mention, and ironically; usually while trying to listen to the better stations from the SF Bay area. They pale all in comparison to the stations in LA (IMO) but, that I guess is an aside comment, definitely neither "here nor there". Anyways, I enjoyed the review and I am glad that you took the time to elaborate. Kudos for going the extra mile. I purchased a Proton AT-670 tuner and AC-620 CD player at half-price day at the Thrifty Bargain in Yuba City, CA. Total price about 7 bucks. They both worked okay, but did have some minor issues. Without your review, I would not have known what to make of these fine devices.
