One of my Sherwoods is a mono 3000 fitted with a Bob Fitzgerald MPX decoder. On my local jazz station with headphones, I prefer my pure-tube tuners. My local classical station, KBAQ, has terrible noise on many tuners despite a strong signal. I suspect IBOC (HD Radio) is to blame. The Fitzgerald MPX decoder handles KBAQ well with nice quiet reception.
