The protagonist of the last two unpublished part-of-a-mystery-series manuscripts is a vinylphile. That's strictly backstory, though the retrieval of a CD triggers the second novel's climax. What I'm considering for the opening line in the next is the kind of statement that excites all sorts of passions here on the Asylum. It may even wind up constituting the core of the plot's premise, but that's still in the kicking-the-concept-around stage.
